Going to start this new thing where I blog about the things I eat along with the exercises I do. Trying to get back in shape for beach season as well as letting you guys know about the cool brands that I like. I figure if other people can see the things I am eating, then I have to be honest and I can't sneak little things here and there; its all public! Hope it works....eeeeek Also, let me know if you have any suggestions of brands that you like.

Day 1: Monday April 4th, 2011
8:00 am Wake up, walk Mango, the cutest and best dog in the world!

8:40 Exercise, thus far:
-50 military count bicycle crunches.
-20 military count cross knee to elbow in push up position things.

~1 cup of Spice Island coffee
This will help me speed up my metabolism a tad bit, curbing those urges to eat junky stuff.

Metropolis Coffee Company:
-Spice Island is a blend of Indonesian and South American coffee that they put together to highlight the mild spiciness and sweet-dry walnut and pecan notes of its components . Spice Island is full bodied, but its dry finish is clean and sweet. I bought this bag of coffee, made in our home of Chicago at M. Henry.

~9:15 am. 1/2 cup McCann's Imported Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal with Kefir and fruit!
along with some Driscoll's® raspberries, SunBelle® blueberries, a splash of Helio's® Organic Plain Kefir, half of a Chiquita banana, and a dash of McCormicks® Cinnamon.

I just found this adorable Chiquita® Banana commercial from the 40's; trop chou!

McCann's:
Their slogan
Diet experts and nutritionists are recommending Steel Cut Oats as the perfect start to your morning. A hearty bowl of McCann's™ Steel Cut Oats, unlike most highly processed breakfast cereals, gives you sustained energy to power you through the morning. Bought at Harvestime, a cute little Hispanic grocery store on Lawrence.

Also, kefir is a delicious, probiotic beverage that supports a healthy, intestinal eco-system and strong bones too! Cultured to exacting standard using the finest, natural ingredients. All organic flavors, lightly sweetened, with milk source form small, family-owned farms. Gluten-free, as well. Get some creative idea's as to how to make a kefir treat! www.heliosnutrition.com

Le 14 Juillet

It starts out at a bar in Paris.
The most friendly people
you will find,
greeting your American,
even American,
It's your first day back in the game,
Your so happy, mellow, smiles and all that who-ha
And it's such a Perfect Day
Meeting great people, even more
and then you turn around
people are arguing,
its young vs old
We've been living here for 20 years,
they say in French.
The talkative lady with the fancy cigarette holder
gets pushed,
in the head,
as the feu d'artifice light up the sky,
It like our 4th of July,
And there is a house at the end of the block,
that is darkening and lighting up the sky simultaneously,
with its orange and yellow waves of heat,
plus it's streaks and puffs of what was once there.
The youngsters leave. It quiets down for a second.
Sound is really like waves,
Goes up and down and they are back.
With action in their blood
They are running down the street towards the bar
and then we hear glass shattering,
everyone rushes into the bar,
close the shutters, roll down the gate!
Fuckers
We are stuck in the bar, smoking ciggs,
waiting for permission to leave.

My next girl

I want Chicago, maybe New York as well.
I am Ireland, Berlin, Amsterdam, and London.
London is new.
The others have been seen, but have they really?
There is never too much to see.
I will see some more of the rest.
It was never just cuddling.
Surprises will be fun.
You just wait, you.

Sea, Sun.

My life is a book.
I have a story,
but it's not to say that everyone lives in a book as I do.
Second clementine in the past 3 minutes,
running my hands through the cold water,
I can just imagine jumping in the water
in months to come.
Summertime.
I am like Mersault who killed the Arab,
but I didn't kill anyone for any reason,
I just live spontaneously.
I sometimes catch myself being a hypocrite.
No need to justify why or no need to justify anything.
Just do as you would,
and make what you can,
live by everyday,
not by years to come.
And I, I am a hypocrite.
Pale in the winter,
tan in the summer.
I change every minute,
there's never a standard.
I judge and I reprimand myself.
I seek and sometimes I find.
And that is that,
and this is this.
I am me and you are you.
My life, it is a book.

Pain du pomme.

Take one thing at a time. I think I'll study in Brussels next semester. Ya, that sounds good. Oslo was pretty cool. Saw some Winter olympics up in the hills, found a 100 kroners on the ground. Ate some food, cooked some food. Drank some wine. Ate some gravy, etc...

Tuna Sandwiches for me. My new favorite thing. As well as walking and skating to school. And only washing my hair once a week...Dirrtaay.

St. Paddy's Day is Wednesday, probably go Karaokean. This Weekend: Chartes. Next Weekend: Dublin the fun in Ireland.

I just wanna go back to Berlin.

Ain't Misbehavin.

Ain't missing out on no shroom, no. Mushroom burger business mang. Trying to perfect....ummmm....this is me right now forgetting english words...umm those long green things...thoughts in my head...umm even google can't help me. not brussel sprouts, but I've been cookin those too. Not parsley but I used those in my mushroom burger recipe...ASPARAGUS!
So I'm trying to perfect my asparagus recipe. Olive oil, Asparagus, garlic, salt, pepper, Oven. After I tell the asparagus what to do, I put some parmesan on them. After I decide when they're finished, balsamic viniagrette. Berry goot. Tonight was mushroom burger. Mmm, first time. I'm thinking in French as I write this. Crazy. Beatles and cookin or ZZ Top and cookin. Clash tomorrow night? Hmm just a few whiffens past. Who knows?

Should I go to Brussels or Rennes next semester? or CHICAGO? It's a tough one...
